How to appeal the fine:
Notice of Violations
- The completed appeal form shall be filed with the Code Enforcement Division within thirty (30) days of the effective date of the notice of violation together with a non-refundable appeal fee of $536.37 (check current fee schedule for most up-to-date fee)
- A Request for an appeal fee waiver is available but must be turned in within fifteen (15) days of effective date of the notice of violation.
- Once the completed appeal form has been submitted with either the appeal fee or with an approved appeal fee waiver then a hearing date will be set
- Hearing dates are set between 15-60 days after the request has been received and approved
- The appellant may request one continuance as can the City
- The appellant will be notified by certified mail of the date, time, and plate set for the hearing at least 10 days prior to the date of the hearing
Citations
- The completed appeal form shall be filed with the Code Enforcement Division within thirty (30) days of the effective date of the citation together with the advanced fine deposit (fine amount depends on the citation amount incurred)
- A Request for an appeal fee waiver is available but must be turned in within fifteen (15) days of effective date of the citation.
- Once the completed appeal form has been submitted with either the appeal fee or with an approved appeal fee waiver then a hearing date will be set
- Hearing dates are set between 15-60 days after the request has been received and approved
- The appellant may request one continuance as can the City
- The appellant will be notified by certified mail of the date, time, and plate set for the hearing at least ten (10) days prior to the date of the hearing
Appeal Hearing Fee Waivers
- The request for a waiver is a separate form that must be submitted to the Code Enforcement Division within fifteen (15) days of the effective date of the notice or citation.
- Within ten (10) days of receipt of the request the Manager/Director will review the documents provided and provide a written decision to approve or disapprove the waiver
- If the waiver is not approved the appellant needs to provide the appeal fee withing ten (10) days of the determination. If the Code Enforcement Division does not receive the appeal fee withing this time period, the request for the hearing will not be accepted and will be rejected.
How to pay the appeal fee
- In Person at Vallejo City Hall Monday-Thursday between 9am-3pm. If paying in person, be sure to bring the citation or notice of violation with you, and write the Case Number on your check or money order.
- By Mail addressed to: Code Enforcement, 555 Santa Clara Street, Vallejo, CA 94590. Please enclose a copy of this Citation or Notice Violation along with a personal check, cashier’s check or money order, payable to the City of Vallejo – Account No. 001-1503-310.36-13
- Online by visiting: https://vall-trk.aspgov.com/eTRAKiT/ and under the Violations section click “Pay Fees,” select the New Users “Click Here” link to register and follow instructions for payment.
