The Thrill Capital of Northern California is right in Vallejo’s backyard.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
is a 135-acre park that offers a full day of family fun and adventure as the area’s most unique wildlife and theme park experience. As a destination attraction, guests can enjoy the most thrilling roller coasters around, family rides and attractions, great shows and live entertainment, plus one-of-a-kind, up-close animal experiences that will create memories that last a lifetime.
With an exciting array of coasters, thrill-seekers will enjoy some of the most sought after coaster experiences around. These include one-of-a-kind fun like the wild wood and steel hybrid coaster, THE JOKER, the looping launch coaster, SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight and the popular Medusa, the longest serpentine coaster ever. Get soaking wet on fun water rides like White Water Safari and Monsoon Falls, even shoot water cannons for an extra soaking on The Penguin. With three kids play areas – Tava’s Jungleland, LOONEY TUNES Seaport and Seaside Junction, activities for kids are definitely covered.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is known for its awe-inspiring wildlife presentations, like Odin’s Temple of the Tiger, where guests can see tigers actually swimming under water. The amazing prowess and agility of bottlenose dolphins will leave guests breathless, and seeing California sea lions and Pacific walruses run through a series of behaviors is an unbelievable thrill. Guests can also enter the undersea world of sharks in the Shark Experience, stroll through a botanical habitat for butterflies, and see giraffes in the outdoor exhibit.
Individuals interested in the popular dolphin swim program, Dolphin Discovery, can reserve space in advance of their visit, or sign up at the park (limited availability).
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is open year round on weekends, select
holidays and daily during the summer. Please visit the web site for operating days and times. Six Flags presents special holiday events, including Spring Break, July 4th Fest, Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park throughout the year.
New in 2017 is WONDER WOMAN Lasso of Truth, an exciting, oversized spinning pendulum ride opening in the spring. Be sure to catch the latest thrill innovations as limited engagement virtual reality coaster experiences are presented on Kong, a floorless looping thrill coaster.
