February 20, 2024 - Unhoused Update to Council
Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Email this linkOn February 20, 2024 City Staff brought an update on unhoused and potential areas of opportunity to City Council to receive direction from City Council on which areas to prioritize. During the presentation staff presented previous unhoused proposals, current City work with the unhoused, potential new projects and programs to engage and discussed a recommended path forward.
During the discussion Council provided direction to staff to focus on the below priority areas. City Staff will continue to research these items and bring updates and potential projects and funding sources to Council for further discussion.
- Safe camping/ safe parking (including potential location(s) and potential funding sources)
- Unhoused team
- Family Navigation Center
- Safe Parking Ordinance for churches, religious organizations, and non-profits

Vallejo, CA - The City of Vallejo will be opening the Warming Center beginning tonight, Sunday February 18 through Tuesday, February 20 in the Vallejo Room due to the anticipated floods.
The Warming Center hours will be open 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day.

2024 Point In Time Count - Volunteers Needed
Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Email this linkThe 2024 Solano County Point In Time (PIT) is scheduled to take place on January 31, 2024. The PIT Count is a count of unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness on a single night in January. This is a requirement by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to be conducted every other year.
This count provides data that is used to determine funding from the State and Federal Government to help provide better programs and services to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The City of Vallejo and Solano County are looking for volunteers to help conduct the 2024 PIT Count.
Date: January 31, 2024
Time: 5:30AM – 10:00AM

Updates on active and potential new projects to support individuals who are unhoused

The goal of the presentation was to receive direction from City Council on which areas to prioritize.
