ABOUT

The Housing Authority of the City of Vallejo (HACV) administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program, which provides rental subsidy assistance to low-income families and individuals.

We are committed to providing housing for everyone through promoting housing affordability, access, fairness, dignity, and stability for our residents and workers. Our goal is to provide innovative programs and services in accordance with our mission to improve the living environments and the quality of life for the low and moderate-income families residing within Vallejo's diverse communities.

The HACV also offers various other programs to facilitate improving the quality of life of families of Vallejo. These programs include our Project-Based Voucher Program, Family Self-Sufficiency Program, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing, and a Section 8 Homeownership Program which are available to participants in the Housing Choice Voucher program.

The City of Vallejo promotes fair housing and makes all programs available to families regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status, or disability.

It is the policy of the Housing Authority of the City of Vallejo to provide reasonable accommodation to persons with disabilities, so that they may fully access and utilize the housing program and related services. The Housing Authority must be allowed reasonable time to evaluate all requests. The Housing Authority of the City of Vallejo was established by City Council Resolution No. 27822 N.S. on June 8, 1942. The Authority establishes its own by-laws.

1. Self-service kiosks. These are newly installed automated machines that can be used to submit completed HACV forms or documentation. Machines can scan and instantly send documents to staff, providing email receipt.  Participants may also complete HACV forms and submit them on the spot. Waitlist status may also be accessed.

    

2. Drop-in service. This is for program participants who need a quick in-person consultation with their assigned Housing Specialist during the allotted time as indicated below. Should inquiry require more than 10 minutes, participants will be given an appointment.

RECENT NEWS

The Housing Authority of the City of Vallejo is releasing a proposed update to the 2024 Housing Choice Voucher Program Administrative Plan for public comment. A summary of the proposed change can be found here.

The public comment period begins October 25, 2024, through December 10, 2024.  All comments must be received by Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. Written comments may be submitted via:

The Housing Authority Board of the City of Vallejo will hold a public hearing at a special meeting to receive comments and adopt the proposed changes to the Administrative Plan on December 10, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. at the Vallejo City Council Chambers located at 555 Santa Clara St., Vallejo CA 94590.
