Project Description:
Provide college scholarships to 75 Vallejo youth and support and enrichment to students entering college

Willie B. Adkins Project, a project of VCUSD

Background:
College Bound Vallejo provides students attending a college within 75 miles of Vallejo with financial support to pursue higher education and reach their academic and career goals.  As part of the criteria to receive scholarship funds, each recipient will perform community service hours (150 for students entering their first year of college and 75 for students entering their second year of college) within Vallejo.  The service requirement provides a public benefit and aims to foster a desire to improve Vallejo and a sense of duty to improve one's community.

The application deadline for College Bound Vallejo is May 30, 2014.  Go here for more information.

Project Updates:  The application deadline is May 1st, and applicants will be informed of their status by the end of May.  Scholarship funds will be expended over two years, and students must meet community service milestones during this term.

11/19/2013   The City Council adopts Resolution No. 13-179 N.C., which includes a set of conditions to be met during project implementation.
